MDF

MDF, or Medium Density Fibreboard is manufactured by bonding wood fibres with resin and wax under high temperatures and pressure to form panels that can be used in similar building applications to plywood, blockboard and particle board.

All wood related products create dust when cut or machined. We advise the use of PPE and ventilation when cutting, drilling, sawing any timber product including MDF..

Fibreboard is a useful woodwork product mainly used in cabinet making due to its affordability, lack of natural defects and range of sizes. Medium density fibreboard is usually covered with a plastic laminate and sealant to increase the aesthetics and prevent the fibres from becoming loose and airborne.

Advantages:

• It is cost effective
• It's available in many sizes
• Has no natural defects
• Can be easily machined
