High Performance Roofing Underlays

Roof underlays are required in virtually all modern tile and slate pitched roof constructions for various reasons:

• as a secondary line of defence against wind driven rain and snow
• to reduce wind uplift
• as a temporary roof covering

Vapour Permeable Roof Underlay:

VP400

We supply both Protect VP400 and Protect Zytec

Protect VP400 and Protect Zytec are high performance vapour permeable roofing underlays for use in warm or cold pitched roof constructions. Highly vapour permeable, Protect VP400 and Protect Zytec help to avoid condensation risk in the roofspace.

Non-Permeable Roofing Underlay

Protect A1

We supply Protect A1, which is a ‘third generation’ roofing underlay developed specifically to overcome the disadvantages of traditional type 1F felts and second generation plastic sheet materials. We also supply Protect Wunderlay, which is a modern lightweight alternative to traditional type 1F felts and second generation plastic.

The products can be used for all pitched roof constructions (tiled and slated), whether insulation is at ceiling joist level or rafter level.
