Tee Hinges

Tee hinges are a popular choice for their combination of functionality, durability, and rustic charm. Named for their distinctive "T" shape, these hinges are widely used on lightweight to medium-weight doors, gates, cabinets, and shutters.

Tee hinges consist of two parts: a long strap that attaches to the door or gate and a shorter, rectangular leaf that mounts to the frame. This design provides a wide pivot point, ensuring smooth operation and even weight distribution for the mounted structure.

Why Choose Tee Hinges?

  • Versatility: Suitable for interior and exterior use, tee hinges work on doors, gates, sheds, cabinets, and decorative projects.
  • Ease of Installation: Their simple design makes them easy to install with basic tools.
  • Rustic Aesthetic: Tee hinges add a classic, farmhouse-inspired look, perfect for traditional and modern spaces alike.
  • Durability: High-quality tee hinges are built to last, with options in steel, galvanized finishes, or powder-coated varieties for enhanced rust resistance.

FAQS ABOUT TEE HINGES
HOW DO I FIT TEE HINGES?
Firstly, position the tee hinge on the gate or door and mark the location of the screw holes.  Drill pilot holes for the screws, then use the screws to fix the hinges to the gate or door.
Next position the gate or door against a post and mark the location of the screw holes.  Drill pilot holes in the post and then screw the hinge to the post.
WHAT SIZE TEE HINGE?
As a general guide, tee hinges should cover at least 50% of the door’s width.  A 500mm door would need a 250mm tee hinge.
